Director – Advocacy
1. Mandate.
- Regularly advise and support members on National Advocacy efforts and current messages
- Prepare and update database of local MP, and MPP’s
2. Committee Formation
- Work to maintain a committee with a member assigned to each regional riding
3. Summary of Duties Monthly
- Be familiar with ongoing Advocacy issues that affect members.
- Prepare written report for board meetings as required, and attend monthly board meeting.
- Maintain contact with regional PAC Chair.
- Maintain contact with Kris Birchard, who is thoroughly familiar with National Advocacy issues and knowledgeable in terms of Advocis’ dealings with Provincial regulators and Provincial politicians
- Recruit Chapter members to participate in Advocis Day at Queens Park, typically held in November each year
- Speak at general meetings on National advocacy efforts
- Encourage members to bring forth their own advocacy issues
- Report all efforts to Chapter Relations as required.
