Best Practices Director

Director – Best Practices

 1. Mandate.

  •   Explain the importance of maintaining an exemplary “Best Practice” business to Chapter Members. Following “Best Practice” guidelines is increasingly important for all financial advisors in terms of ensuring that the manner in which they conduct themselves and manage their business is compliant with all regulatory and fiduciary guidelines and requirements. Advisors who are familiar with and incorporate best practices in their daily operations will better serve their clients and realize improved results for their business.
  • For the last number of years Advocis has made Best Practice a key priority for their members through the creation of tools such as the Best Practices Manual. The role of the Best Practices Director is to explain the value of National’s approach to Best Practices via tools such as the Best Practices’ manual and in CE sessions.
  • To use the Best Practices to support current Chapter membership and promote membership recruitment.

2. Committee Formation

  •   Committee should be comprised of at least 4 members. Current members are Peggy Pratt, Allan Bulloch, Harold Geller and Lorraine Lavery.
  • The committee should meet about 3 times per year with a planning meeting to set objectives for the upcoming year scheduled each fall.

3. Summary of Duties Monthly

  •  Prepare written report for board meetings, and attend monthly board meeting
  • Submit an article for each issue of the e-Connections newsletter
  • Arrange for Best Practices material to be delivered at Chapter PD days. This should be 1/2 per PD day
  • Be familiar with the content of the Best Practices manual
  • Answer questions Best Practices questions raised by Chapter members
  • Be available to discuss Best Practices issues with Chapter members, sponsors, MGA’s, etc. or as part of membership recruitment activities

Provide member feedback to National Practice Committee on BP Issues. Report all efforts to Chapter Relations as required
