Technology Director
1. Mandate.
- Responsible for the technology used by the Chapter (automated processes)
- Ensure technology used by the Chapter is up to date and can manage the infrastructure
- Interact with committee chairs, and Secretariat to assist in simplifying technology
- Liaison with IT department at Advocis National to ensure chapter website and theirs work together. (On-line registration, web casting, online bookkeeping)
- Maintain a speaker’s Technology needs sheet
Note: Budget $2000 for web site hosting and support, laptop maintenance, software etc.
2. Committee Formation
- The committee should include the Communications Director and one other member or admin staff trained on the web site
- Need to know how to run the website and make changes
- How to set up ourl technology that is needed at events and not outsourced, and double check to make sure it is working.
3. Summary of Duties Monthly
- Prepare a written report for each board meeting
- Assist with website updates if needed
- Communications Director to update news content
Pre-event
- Secretariat should send out reminder to all PD Day pass holders, that they have pre-registered for upcoming event, and if they can not attend, please let Secretariat know in advance
- Ensure on-line registration system is working and Chapter web site links to it
- Ensure presentations for events are posted on-line, in a timely fashion
- Secretariat to send out monthly reminders of upcoming events
At the Event
- Process any new registrations at event, make sure secretariat receives updated attendee list
- Ensure technology for events runs smoothly
- Assist with webcasting at events
- Note: Chapter could use this service to generate revenue, by charging other chapters or individuals for this service.
